Hello all,

I'm thinking about buying a Peugeot 207 RC 1.6 THP 175 but am worried that it might not be very reliable. I now drive a Toyota Auris but also had a Peugeot 106 and 206 and they were a bit less reliable.

So I'm wondering if there are any major issues with this PSA/BMW engine as I want to buy the car to keep for at least 7 years and the warranty is only 2+2.

I don't speak french very well sorry.

Je pense à l'achat d'une Peugeot 207 RC 1,6 THP 175 suis inquiet, mais qu'il pourrait ne pas être très fiables. Je vais maintenant conduire une Toyota Auris mais avaient aussi une Peugeot 106 et 206 et ils étaient un peu moins fiable.

Alors, je me demande s'il ya des questions majeures à cette PSA / BMW moteur car je veux acheter la voiture de conserver pendant au moins 7 ans et la garantie n'est que de 2 +2.

Je ne parle pas le français très bien désolé.

j'ai une rc depuis novembre; 8000 km; aucun problème.

I'm worried because there are problems with the same engine in the Mini Cooper S (BMW/PSA 1.6 THP 175)... it starts to make a rattling noise and nobody knows if it will break down with time.

If I order an RC I'm worried I'll have the same problem... it takes about 3 months to receive the car here in Lisbon and costs about 25.000 eur with taxes.

That's the problem.. if you go to that forum I linked you'll see that it's not all that isolated... there are lots of engines there making the noise and nobody knows if they will die or if it will be ok

I don't know there the engines are built but I thought the THP 175 THP 1.6 in the Mini CS uses exactly the same design so it should have the same virtues and problems.

So far there are no serious problems with this engine, only that diesel noise... but people are worried about the future. Only 4 year warranty...

I'm still trying to decide if I dump the Auris for the RC.. will lose $.. dont want to lose it later if it breaks down.

in france 2 years warranty. you are lucky: 4 years!!!!!
