I have a 1923 Peugeot Quadrelette and on the flywheel are several marks with the following lettering: PMB OE EA or FA.

Can someone tell me what these marks mean (in English). I assume one will be Top Dead Centre and the othese relate to the ignition or valve opening.

I have written my request as a am sure your English is far better tham school boy French.

Regards Barry Murfett

Oh you know, technical English is not so easy sometimes... Maybe someone will give you the answer here, but as you may know, this is not an official Peugeot website.

Have you tried to contact someone here: https://laventurepeugeotcitroends.fr/en/
This is the official website for old and very old Peugeot (and Citroen).

hello Barry,
PMB : point mort bas ( Bottom dead centre). Top dead centre would be PMH.
OE : ouverture échappement ( outlet valve opening )
FE : fermeture échappement ( outlet valve closing)
OA : ouverture admission ( inlet valve opening)
FA : fermeture admission ( inlet valve closing)
AA : avance à l'allumage ( ignition advance )

For EA, no idea.

Kawajo, ne nous dis pas que tu as travaillé sur le moteur de la Quadrilette!

Yes, restoring a 1923 Quadrelette. I pulled the timing chain off before I marked the cam. Silly me.
