Maybe no sense but my ears don t think so.
With AUX input, the NAC don t use its own DAC.
If the AUX analog input signal quality is better than analog signal delivred by NAC's DAC, you win![]()
I do not have NAC's schematics but i do have RCC ones. AUX is ADC (, then it goes through software mixer then resulting mix goes through i2s to FDA450LV - which is DAC and amp solution. Since AUX sound is mixed there is no way it may bypass internal DAC.
There is no simple solution to bypass DAC in our headunit. You can take it apart and solder i2s to toslink adapter and attach it to separate DSP if you are brave enough
Even "focal" option uses internal head unit's DAC.
